Letter from the Director
It’s February! Thankfully, this means we’re one step closer to the end of winter! I’m sure all of you share my feelings in being excited about this, even if we did have such a mild season (fingers crossed of course!)
February also brings some exciting happenings at the studio. We are ready to start our recital routines! It is a very thrilling time for the dancers, but with that being said, attendance now becomes a very important part of our dance lives. It is of the utmost importance that your dancer attend each class and arrive on time and ready to go. Absences seriously affect your dancer’s technique and training, but it will also affect their recital performance. If a dancer is absent and has not learned the choreography they missed in their absence, they will be removed from that portion of the recital routine. I know, to some of you, this seems harsh, but it is unfair to the rest of the dancers in the routine who are constantly in class and trying their best. Please be aware of this going forward.
February is also a time to celebrate our love! Not only should we celebrate our love for each other, but also our love of dance! I’d like to share this widely known danspiration with you to keep in mind as we celebrate this month. “The dance is over, the applause subsided, but the joy and feeling will stay with you forever.” ~W.M. February Vacation
The studio will be closed February 19, 2012 through February 26, 2012 for the February break (with the exception of Artistry in Motion rehearsals). There will be classes on Saturday, February 19, 2012 but not on the 25th. If you are interested in making up the classes you will miss during this time, please talk to Miss Kim.
February Tuition Now Due
Please remember that tuition is now due for the month of February. Prompt payments are very much appreciated!
Costume Payments Past Due
Just a reminder that all unpaid costume payments are now past due! We are ordering the costumes this month to ensure they will arrive in time for the recital. If your payments are not completed, we will be unable to order your dancer’s costume and they will be unable to participate in the recital.
Class Enrollment Now Closed
Enrollment for all classes is now closed for the recital but this does not mean we will not be accepting new students!! If you know of someone who wishes to join a class, please be advised that they are more than welcome in class, but they will be unable to participate in the recital.
The Pulse Dance Convention
Our Artistry in Motion dancers will be participating in The Pulse dance convention this month at the Boston Westin Waterfront Hotel! They will be taking classes and learning from some of the best in “the business” including Cris Judd, Tyce Diorio, Brian Friedman, and Dave Scott. We are so very excited for them! Wish them luck when you see them in the studio!! :)

Recital Reminder!
Our annual recital, “We Are the World” is scheduled for Saturday, June, 9, 2012 at 2:00 PM! Please reserve the date!! We will also be holding a mandatory studio wide dress rehearsal at the theater on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. All students are required to attend in order to participate in the recital! Further details on both the recital and dress rehearsal will be distributed as we approach the date.
